Garden Center Sales Associates

 

Sales Associate I – Training Position

Applicant should have retail sales experience, preferably in a garden center or related industry. In addition, must have strong customer service skills.

Applicant should have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal and some computer skills.

Applicant should be familiar with many plants used in the Northwest landscape including annuals, perennials, shrubs and trees.  Master Gardener or landscape experience is a plus.

Need to be physically fit (lots of bending/lifting/standing/walking), have a positive attitude, and enjoy working with the public.

Job duties include cashiering (using a computer POS system), assisting customers in product selection, and maintenance of products.

Individual must be flexible to work scheduled days and hours, including weekends. Part and full time work is available. Wages will be based upon experience and skills.

 

Sales Associate II

We are seeking individuals who currently have a minimum of two years experience in a Nursery Garden Center to sell plants and related nursery products. 

Applicant should be able to identify most of the plants utilized in Northwest landscapes including annuals, perennials, shrubs and trees. Knowledge of pond, fish and bird products and identification of plant pests a real plus.  Also, previous sales experience of outdoor patio furniture, containers and supplies is advantageous.

Applicant should have good communication skills both written and computer.

Need to be physically fit (lots of bending/lifting/standing/walking), positive attitude and enjoy working with the public.  Certified Nursery person or Master Gardener is a plus.

Garden Center Maintenance

We are seeking individuals with no experience necessary who want to work outdoors with plants and the public.  The job includes tasks such as janitorial, stocking, watering, weeding, and loading customer orders.

Applicant should have some communication skills both verbal and written.  Forklift and loader experience a plus.  We will train on all aspects of the job.

Applicant must be physically fit (lots of bending, lifting (up to 100 lbs.), standing, and walking.

Applicant must be flexible on scheduled work days and hours including weekends.  Part and full time work is available. Wages are based on experience and skills.

 

Garden Center Cashier

We are seeking detail oriented individuals with previous experience as a cashier in a retail environment.  Some knowledge of plant material advantageous. 

Applicants must exhibit exceptional customer service skills and be physically fit (lots of standing, bending and lifting)

The job requires ringing up sales on a computer POS system, greeting customers, keep work area clean and organized, tagging and stocking products and some watering.

Equipment used includes a computer, credit card machine, telephone system, and 2-way radios.

Applicant must be flexible on scheduled work days and hours including weekends.  Part and full time work is available. Wages are based on experience and skills.
